Alphabet
GOOGL · NASDAQ · USAAlphabet and its sources of revenue
Alphabet includes Google’s search and advertising services, YouTube, cloud computing and other businesses. Advertising links customer spending to user activity and the value advertisers obtain from reaching an audience.
The page follows GOOGL. Alphabet has different share classes, and GOOGL should not be treated as an identical security to GOOG simply because they relate to the same underlying company.
Advertising demand and product changes
Revenue depends on advertising activity, pricing, formats and the way users reach information. Changes in search behaviour and AI-based products can affect distribution and the cost of serving a query. More engagement does not automatically imply the same profit per user.
Cloud and investment expectations
Data centres and computing infrastructure require capital before the resulting services generate a return. Meta provides another advertising model, while Microsoft and Amazon offer cloud comparisons. The GOOGL chart reflects expectations for the whole group, including how investment and competition may change future cash generation.
