Uniswap
UNIUniswap and decentralised exchanges
Uniswap is a protocol for exchanging assets through blockchain-based liquidity mechanisms. Users interact with contracts and pools rather than assuming that every trade is matched by a conventional central order book. UNI is its governance-related token.
Holding UNI is different from supplying assets to a liquidity pool. A liquidity position has its own fees, changing asset composition and exposure to relative prices.
Liquidity and execution costs
A swap’s outcome depends on pool liquidity, trade size, route and transaction costs. A quoted token price does not guarantee the same execution rate for a larger order. Different protocol versions and networks can have different operating details.
Trading volume and fees measure protocol activity, but their relationship to UNI depends on current rules. They are not automatically a dividend payable to every token holder.
Interpreting UNI market value
Assess sustained use, available liquidity, competition and how users reach applications on each network. A temporary jump in volume during volatility may not persist. Ethereum provides smart-contract context and Hyperliquid another trading infrastructure model. The UNI chart follows the token, not the performance of a chosen liquidity pool.
