Monero
XMRMonero and transaction privacy
Monero is a cryptocurrency designed to protect transaction information by default. Its protocol uses several mechanisms to obscure aspects of senders, recipients and amounts. XMR is the native currency of the network.
Privacy of the ledger is different from complete anonymity across every service. Wallet security, network access and the information users give to intermediaries still matter.
Mining and ongoing issuance
Monero uses proof of work and continuing tail emission. Block rewards support miners after the initial issuance phase rather than relying entirely on transaction fees. This supply model differs from a fixed maximum coin count.
The effect on holders depends on the amount issued relative to existing supply and on market demand. A protocol’s issuance rule does not guarantee a predictable exchange price.
Access and the available XMR chart
Exchange policies and listing availability can affect liquidity and the ability to move between XMR and other assets. The page uses available USD observations; it does not manufacture candlesticks from isolated prices. Zcash provides another approach to privacy, while Bitcoin offers a different ledger and issuance model.
