BCHBitcoin Cash and the network split
Bitcoin Cash is a cryptocurrency that emerged from a split in Bitcoin’s history. BCH follows its own network rules and market price. The shared origin does not make BTC and BCH interchangeable balances.
The project’s approach places emphasis on on-chain payment capacity. Capacity, fees and the demand that actually uses them are separate aspects of a payment network.
Mining and practical payments
Bitcoin Cash uses proof of work. Mining rewards and transaction fees contribute to the economics of securing its chain. A shared family of technology does not mean that each related chain has the same security budget or liquidity.
Practical payment acceptance depends on wallets, merchants and intermediaries. Confirmations requested by a service can make the time to receive usable funds different from the time of the first block.
Comparing BCH with other assets
Price can react to payment-service availability, protocol development and broader crypto demand. A short move is not necessarily evidence of changed payment use. Bitcoin explains a different scaling direction; Litecoin and Dogecoin provide other payment-oriented supply and mining models.
