Common period
How the comparison is calculated

Every line starts at 0% at the first common observation within the selected period. Change is calculated as (price / starting price − 1) × 100. The chart ends at the last common observation. If an asset has a shorter history, the comparison uses the available common period shown below the chart.

We use completed daily candles, or completed weeks for MAX. For aggregate data, we use the last available observation in each day or week. Each market has its own close, so these are not intraday prices at the same second. A dashed connector joins the last and next real observation across periods without quotes, such as weekends or holidays. It does not represent trades during that time. Missing prices are not added or displayed by the cursor.

The comparison uses each asset’s original quote currency shown beside its symbol, without currency conversion or dividends. USD and USDT are different currencies. For perpetuals, it uses the selected market’s price only, excluding leverage, funding payments and fees. Commodities use continuous futures series, where contract changes can cause jumps. The starting price must be positive; a later negative price can produce a decline below −100%.
