Canton
CCCanton and institutional applications
Canton is blockchain infrastructure associated with financial applications and controlled sharing of information between participants. Its design aims to combine interoperability with the privacy and operating requirements of connected applications.
CC is the network-related asset followed here. It should be distinguished from a security, loan or other instrument recorded by an application using Canton.
Network activity and token economics
The token’s economics depend on rules for rewards and consumption associated with infrastructure use. Actual application activity, participant adoption and the way fees affect supply matter more than announcements alone.
An institutional project can be announced well before it produces sustained network usage. The nominal value of assets connected to a system is different from the amount of CC required to operate it.
Reading CC observations
The USD series tracks CC itself, not every financial asset on Canton. Source coverage and liquidity can limit what a chart reveals. Figure Heloc helps distinguish a credit-related underlying asset from infrastructure currency. Chainlink and Ethereum add other models for connecting financial applications and information.
