Saving portfolio history settings and returning to work
Name the applied interval and source choices. On return, review and adopt them as a draft first; explicitly load and apply actual inputs and a financial result again.
1. Name the applied history configuration
In Portfolio first prepare and explicitly apply the historical report. In Save applied history name the actual applied configuration: your portfolio, fixed UTC interval, explicit source choices and presentation. New unfinished source choices are not saved automatically.
This saves settings for fresh work, not prices, quantities, returns, original source files or a financial Snapshot. Start and end dates stay fixed; reopening later does not automatically move them to a current interval.
2. Review and confirm the save
Choose Review history save and inspect the name, portfolio, full interval and exact source families. Only Confirm save to account saves the configuration and returns an Immutable command receipt. Review is neither a new financial calculation nor a journal change.
If another tab changes the collection, the draft does not silently overwrite its newer version. Verify the current collection and review your retained draft first. An oversized configuration is not automatically truncated.
3. Return through your private library
Find the same named configurations in Portfolio, My analyses and Dashboard return to work. The list requires current verification of your account; after expiry its names and settings stay concealed until verification is renewed.
Rename and remove also have their own review and confirmation. Removing a configuration does not change the portfolio, recorded trades or original financial files. If its original portfolio is no longer available, the saved link does not select another one.
4. Opening prepares a draft only
After opening, Review saved history rechecks the same private configuration and shows its conditions for adoption. Adopt as draft only does not download sources or calculate a report. Overwriting existing work requires explicitly choosing Replace draft with saved settings. An unresolved retained request must be resolved first.
Adoption sets the draft interval and logical source choices. A previous unit confirmation is your saved assertion, not fresh source verification. A changed session or late reply cannot adopt another account’s or an old draft.
5. Load and review actual inputs again
Explicitly load the current owned journal and daily states. Review every holding in the interval, including those closed today. Newly present identities require an explicit choice; a missing saved holding must not disappear without explanation.
Stock listings and Coinbase series remain exact logical selections. A Binance pair is resolved again by the same native symbol, base asset and USDT/BTC quote in the current market. An old market capture or similar ticker is not a substitute. A missing, ambiguous or changed source requires your review.
6. Explicitly run valuation and period return again
Only Load selected original histories, review of actual units and Apply unified history produce a new financial report. New sources or journal corrections can change the result. A fixed older interval may fall outside the currently available rolling price window; today’s price does not fill it.
Any saved return dates restore only an interval selection. After fresh valuation, Review period and external flows and Calculate period return are required again. Neither the return percentage nor old price authority is stored with the configuration.
7. Retry an uncertain confirmation exactly
If a connection ends before the save outcome is confirmed, the retained request may already have been accepted. Verify the account and use that same retained confirmation; do not create another copy merely because the reply did not arrive. Opening a page does not automatically send a retained request.
A configuration helps you return to your own work. It is not a financial Snapshot, a full portfolio backup, sharing with other people, a trade instruction or proof of then-known information or complete investment history.
8. Save the whole original result separately
To retain the exact original numbers, choose Save original result beside an actually calculated current or unified historical valuation. Review the portfolio, interval, inputs, currency mode and partial coverage. Separate confirmation saves the whole financial Snapshot in My analyses; named history settings remain a different feature.
Open the original valuation from My analyses and verify access to that same result. Today’s prices or later transactions do not replace its original holdings, cash, daily points, unpriced members or inputs. Whole JSON and CSV belong to this original, including all table pages. Optional separately calculated returns or allocation are not automatically part of the valuation.
Use conditions in a new draft transfers only the portfolio, interval and source, unit and currency choices. Confirm preparation, verify the current owned portfolio, then explicitly consent to adoption or replacement of existing work. Prices, quantities and financial results do not transfer; you explicitly start any subsequent acquisition and calculation.
Saving requires the exact original inputs to remain available. A missing archive or withdrawn current access is shown as unavailable; no substitute price fills it. Your unfinished result remains retained. The saved valuation is private and is neither a trade instruction, a portfolio backup nor confirmation of complete investment history.
This is a guide to Datisto. Private features require sign-in and access to your own data. Personal models use your assumptions; availability and permitted use of source data are checked with the particular result. This is not investment advice.
