Calculating one portfolio valuation from mixed sources
Explicitly choose one source family for each owned position, review units, then calculate a single report. Stock and crypto sources keep their own time rules; cash is counted exactly once.
1. Open one valuation of your own portfolio
In Portfolio, open Valuation → One portfolio valuation. Inspect your owned positions and the report’s economic cutoff. For each position choose Valuation source: No source, Data series or Stock listing. A family is not selected merely by ticker or by whichever price is newer.
Saved mappings from both families can be loaded into a draft, but they neither choose the position’s family nor calculate anything. If two mappings exist, choose explicitly. No source is a valid choice with an uncovered value, not a zero price.
2. Review the chosen data series
For Data series choose Load available sources, select an actually offered series and inspect its readable name, identity and unit per recorded unit. Explicitly confirm the unit matches your position. Selecting an asset or name alone does not verify that match.
A crypto reference time or daily bucket is not an exchange closing trade. The source retains its own age, quality, admissible-point and rights rules; the stock Close rule is not automatically applied to it. An unavailable source is not replaced by a similar series.
3. Review the stock listing and unit
For Stock listing use the exact current catalogue CIK/ticker/exchange, explicitly load history and review the separate native identity, type and currency. Confirm that the position unit corresponds to one share of that listing and apply the assignment. This does not independently prove the SEC issuer-to-Yahoo-price join.
A stock point must be completed and eligible at cutoff: reported regular-session end or conservatively timestamp plus 24 hours, at most seven days old. A latest null is not bypassed with an older price, and a recorded later split-basis change remains a gap. These are application rules, not proof of a historical closing trade or a complete corporate-action feed.
4. Calculate the whole valuation with one button
After reviewing all selected families choose Calculate whole valuation. Calculation rechecks current owner, session, exact ledger basis and source admission. Do not run two separate user calculations or sum their cash for the combined report. Earlier standalone reports remain a separate advanced option.
One report retains every owned position, including No source and unavailable values. Exact quantity multiplied by an admissible unit price gives value; cash is copied from the original ledger only once. A family, source-draft or economic-vector change invalidates the previous result.
5. Read totals and PnL in the correct unit
Summary values and the complete table separate coverage, original cash and subtotals by exact native unit. USD, GBP and GBp remain distinct, with no FX or 100:1 scaling. A base total is available only with complete coverage and exact agreement of every price/cash unit with the base currency.
Cost PnL requires a compatible accounting unit and supported cost basis. A missing price or incompatible cost is neither zero nor an estimated gain. This report is not historical total return, TWR/XIRR, dividend or tax analysis.
6. Inspect original points and export the whole report
Selected-row detail distinguishes the family, exact original point, price/unit, time rule and source admission. Source timestamp, capture and portfolio cutoff are different facts; a combined report does not make the quotes simultaneously executable or atomic.
Whole valuation JSON/CSV retains original inputs from both families, every position, cash once, subtotals, gaps and one result manifest. A page or point inspector does not narrow export. Before download, current owner/session, the same ledger and every same original are checked again; an invalid constituent blocks the file instead of substituting a newer price.
The file contains private portfolio material; it is not an automatic financial Snapshot, public share or new data permission. Loading or saving existing metadata does not change those conditions.
This is a guide to Datisto. Private features require sign-in and access to your own data. Personal models use your assumptions; availability and permitted use of source data are checked with the particular result. This is not investment advice.
