Building a selected stock quote board
Expand the board for two to six pinned listings. Their exact sources load and are validated automatically; every quote keeps its own currency and clock.
1. Pin candidates in the shared catalogue
In the US stock catalogue, expand Additional tool: compare individual quotes. The panel automatically reads the same two-to-six selection as historical comparison; a closed panel acquires no additional quotes. Edit members in the shared pinned roster. The SEC catalogue is candidate provenance, not proof of a current quote or issuer identity through CIK.
2. Read original quotes and clocks
Opening checks the original catalogue, reads the exact selected listings and re-admits every same input. The complete board then appears without another confirmation. Each quote retains its original name and symbol, venue, currency, price, quote clock and separate capture. The SEC candidate and native Yahoo listing remain separate identities; similar names do not establish their relationship.
An unavailable member is neither omitted nor replaced by another ticker. If an entire input is missing, the successful subset cannot be applied alone. A missing price or clock within a valid input remains labelled unknown; an actual zero remains zero. Cancel operation retains the previous applied board.
3. Whole selection and source refresh
The public board accepts only the entire validated selection. An unavailable member is never silently omitted. Changing pinned members reads the new selection only in an open panel; Refresh selected quotes repeats the read. A completed failure or explicit cancellation does not trigger automatic retries.
4. Distinguish price, currency and clock
Selection order is not a price ranking. Native currencies, including the case-sensitive GBp unit, remain separate without FX conversion, a common price axis or portfolio total. Quotes are neither live nor necessarily simultaneous. regularMarketTime is distinct from capture, board creation and confirmed publication.
Volume and market cap are original numbers; volume unit and market-cap currency are not independently established. Previous Close and Chart previous Close remain two separate reference fields, not a basis for inferred daily change. The board calculates no return, promises no executable trade and is not a saved historical analysis.
5. Inspect the source and download the whole board
Source detail re-admits the same originals before showing exact identity, SEC candidate, source values/clocks, SHA and retention deadline. Original document is concealed in advanced detail until explicitly opened. Download whole JSON or Download whole CSV retains the same result, the entire original SEC catalogue once and each original listing once. Member inspection never narrows the file; a missing original blocks the whole download.
6. Original verification is not a new quote
Hiding the page or panel interrupts a pending first read, which may resume on return. An applied public board is re-admitted against the same retained originals on return without acquiring newer prices. Withdrawn access conceals values. Cache expiry labels the input’s age; after retention expires, a new read must be explicit. Source availability does not establish a redistribution licence.
This is a guide to Datisto. Private features require sign-in and access to your own data. Personal models use your assumptions; availability and permitted use of source data are checked with the particular result. This is not investment advice.
