Read protocol and chain TVL without confusing scopes
Find a protocol or chain, filter the provider catalogue, inspect its original USD values and retain the full selected result.
Main workspace and exact source links
Opening DeFi and protocol TVL automatically reads the actual catalogue. Both inputs form one workspace while retaining each document’s own capture and hash. Switch protocols and chains, filter category or chain membership and inspect the exact original record. A protocol-ID or chain-name link never substitutes another record when it is absent from the source.
2. Start with the correct universe
Protocols and chains are two separate provider catalogues. The protocol response also includes CEX and other source categories. Keep the category visible and use its filter when you want a narrower group. A position in the table is an ordering of this response, not a recommendation or independent safety assessment.
3. Compare like-for-like TVL
TVL is the provider’s USD valuation of assets in the stated scope. It is distinct from token market capitalization, protocol revenue, yield and stablecoin supply. A change in asset prices can change USD TVL without a deposit or withdrawal. Reported percentage changes keep the provider’s own periods; they are not investment returns.
4. Read the detail without adding overlapping amounts
A protocol may list several chains and additional metrics such as staking or borrowed amounts. These labels do not form a guaranteed additive partition. Inspect the original labelled values without summing them into a new total. The separately supplied chain TVL has its own provider scope and need not equal a sum of visible protocol rows.
5. Keep clocks and missing values
Datisto shows when each original response was captured. If the source supplies no observation or update timestamp, the measurement time stays unknown. Capture time is not silently used as that timestamp, and two documents do not become a simultaneous observation. A missing value is not zero. Source categories and descriptions retain their original language.
6. Keep the entire selected result
Search, filters and sorting define the visible selection. Its complete CSV and JSON include the selected rows rather than only the current table page, together with source and capture context. The chart is a cross-sectional comparison of current values, not a historical curve. This local development catalogue does not create a saved account analysis or change a financial position.
This is a guide to Datisto. Private features require sign-in and access to your own data. Personal models use your assumptions; availability and permitted use of source data are checked with the particular result. This is not investment advice.
