Optionally using Datisto as an app
On your device, explicitly enable Datisto’s app shell and use the browser’s installation option if supported. This is the same web application and account, not another account, app store or offline source of prices.
1. Choose on this device
In Settings, open App on this device. First inspect what is stored locally: only a fixed static shell without account or data. Enabling is your explicit choice for this browser and device; it publishes nothing, creates no account and requests no notification permission.
If you do not want the feature or your browser does not support it, continue using Datisto on the web. Installation is optional and grants no paid or data permission.
2. Enable the shell and use the actual browser option
Choose Enable app in this browser and inspect the reported state; later use Check status to verify it again. If the browser offers an installation dialog, Install app opens it for your decision. Dismissing it is not a successful installation. The app does not promise the same installation API in every browser.
Without a supported dialog, use the available manual browser-menu instructions, such as installing the site or adding it to the home screen. Showing instructions does not confirm installation; if the option is absent, keep using the web. Account and sign-in remain the same.
3. What being offline means
The offline shell only states that the live app is unavailable. It contains no account, financial values, portfolio, community words or private drafts. This shell does not retain APIs, sign-in or fetched financial data for offline use. It supplies no offline authority, old prices as current values or queue of unsent writes.
If connectivity is lost during open work, the financial and private workspace is concealed. Unsaved in-memory work is not silently deleted, but it is not backed up by this feature. Do not submit changes based on an old connection or old authorization.
4. Return to live work explicitly
Connection is back does not itself reveal the previous account or confirm current source data. Prepare fresh reload opens a warning about losing unsaved in-memory work. Choose Keep unfinished page, or explicitly Discard unsaved changes and reload. Only a fresh load checks the current session and rights again.
There is no automatic synchronization or replay of earlier writes. If the outage continues, the truthful offline state remains; the installed shell is not a substitute financial dashboard.
5. Disable the local shell and distinguish installation
Disable app component removes only Datisto’s own registration and exact static cache, not unrelated browser components or all storage. It deletes neither the account, server data nor a system-installed icon. An already-open page can remain controlled by the original component until another load or closure.
Removing the icon or installed app itself is handled by the browser or device system. A standalone window, enabled shell and confirmed installation are different states. Native installation across devices, mobile quality and public operation require their own verification.
This is a guide to Datisto. Private features require sign-in and access to your own data. Personal models use your assumptions; availability and permitted use of source data are checked with the particular result. This is not investment advice.
