Three personal scenarios with independent dividend-per-share and purchase-price growth. Only your assumptions, without issuer forecasts, an actual payment calendar or automatic tax rates.
Preparing the calculator…
Year one uses your supplied price and annual dividend per share directly. From year two, price and dividend grow independently under each scenario. Gross dividend = opening share count × that year’s dividend. Newly purchased shares receive dividends only in the next scenario year.
Your withholding and fixed annual payment cost are deducted from cash plus gross dividend, even with a zero dividend. A purchase fee applies only to a positive purchase. Affordable new share quantity rounds down; remaining nonnegative cash carries forward. Model wealth includes cash exactly once.
Negative available cash stops that scenario. The failed year is excluded from completed years and aggregates; the last completed wealth retains its actual completed-year modeled price. The model neither borrows nor adds capital. These are personal constant growth assumptions, without inflation, regular contributions, FX or success probability. Annual year ends are not an actual payment calendar.
Reinvestment and actual plan rules · Investor.govDecimal strings with 120-digit working precision, not unlimited exact growth algebra. Inputs at most 24 integer and 18 fractional digits, at most 100 scenario years. Purchases round down to whole shares or 18 decimal places. The supported budget bounds the whole result; unsupported computation is not replaced by an estimate.
